申請美國碩士留學項目的時候，美國碩士留學申請信的重要性占到20%-25%，雖洋洋灑灑1000字不到，但有時真的能起到四兩撥千斤的作用。有的同學經常對于留學申請信這個部分不知如何下手，不妨看看以下總結的三類問題：

YOU 認識你自己

1. What things in your life are you most proud of? 在你的生活中，什么事讓你最自豪?

2. What would your best friend say are your very best qualities? 在你的好朋友眼里，你最好的品質是什么?

3.What is the biggest challenge you have faced and how did you overcome it? 你遭遇的最大挑戰(zhàn)是什么，你是如何完成它的?

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES 學術活動

1.Why did you choose your major? 你為什么選擇你現(xiàn)在的專業(yè)?

2.Have you gone beyond what is required of you by the curriculum at any time? Please describe. 你有沒有做出過超出課程要求的努力?請描述。

3.What were the high points of your undergraduate study? 你的本科學習過程中取得過什么成就讓你尤為驕傲?

4.What areas of your major particularly motivate you? 你所學(選)專業(yè)的哪方面讓你特別有興趣?

5.What do you see as the gaps or flaws in your application, and would you like your essay to address these? 你認為你有什么缺點或問題會成為你申請的障礙?你希望你的文書中提到這些問題嗎?

6.Why are you passionate about the subject you are applying for at post graduate level? 你為什么對你申請的這個方向感興趣?

7.What is it about your target institution(s) that particularly interests/excites/motivates you? 你的目標學校在哪方面特別吸引你或者激勵你?

8.Do you have any publications or any major prizes which you would like us to mention? 你是否有任何與專業(yè)相關的文章公開發(fā)表或者獲得獎項可在文書中提及的?

9.Are there any news, academic or industry articles which you feel ought to be referenced in your statement? If so please provide web links. 有任何新聞、學術文章或者行業(yè)文章你認為需要在文書中被引用的嗎?

10.(For science/engineering majors) Please tell us about any practical experiences such as research groups you have been a part of, projects you have undertaken or any other technical achievements which you feel contribute to your application. (針對理工科學生)請告訴我們任何有關科研方面的實踐，例如作為研究團隊的一員參與項目的研發(fā)或者取得了相關的技術成果，只要是你認為可能對申請有幫助的經歷都可以。

Extracurricular 課外活動

1. Do you feel you have contributed to the life of your fellow students or the university as a whole? How? 總體而言，你覺得你對于周圍同學有沒有幫助?對你的學校有沒有做出貢獻?請描述。

2. Please describe any wider forms of socially responsible activities to which you have contributed. 你還參加過哪些有意義的社會活動?請描述你在其中發(fā)揮的作用。

3. Have you been involved in any competitive activities, won any prizes or been awarded any scholarships which you feel are relevant to your application? 你有沒有參加過與你申請相關的競爭性活動(如比賽)，獲獎或得到過相關獎學金?

4. What ‘soft skills’ have you exhibited or developed during the last three years? 本科三年內你有沒有培養(yǎng)自己的“軟技能”?

5. Have you been part of a team? 你參加過什么團隊?

6. Have you led a team? 你有沒有領導過一個團隊?

7. Solved a practical problem? 有沒有解決過實際問題?

8. Have you ever made a pitch to an audience? Give examples. 你有沒有過說服別人接受你的想法的經歷?(比如做一個研究課題的presentation，在實習中向上級推薦新方法，或者參加辯論)

9. Do you have any hobbies or special skills you would like to talk about in your essay? 你有沒有什么愛好或特別的技能希望寫在文書中?

Professional and Future 未來規(guī)劃

1.Please describe internships you have undertaken, why you chose them and what they taught you. What was the most challenging aspect of these internships? 請描述你參加過的實習，你為什么選擇這項實習，從中收獲了什么，實習過程中最有挑戰(zhàn)性的部分是什么?

2. Career goals? – please state short-term and long-term. 職業(yè)規(guī)劃?請分別從“短期規(guī)劃”和“長期規(guī)劃”來闡述。

3.Other ambitions? 其他的安排和想法?

4．Think about what is most important to you. What do you want to do with your life? 生活中什么是你最看重的?你怎樣規(guī)劃你的人生?

5 How are you going to make this happen? 你打算怎樣實現(xiàn)它們?
